Candied/Glazed Bacon Recipe
This sweet, smoky, and slightly spicy candied bacon is the perfect blend of crispy and caramelized, making it an irresistible topping for waffles, burgers, or even just as a snack!
Ingredients:
-
1 lb thick-cut bacon
-
2 Tbsp brown sugar
-
2 ½ Tbsp Grade A maple syrup
-
2 ½ tsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
-
1 tsp cinnamon (optional, for warmth and depth)
Instructions:
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a wire rack for even crisping.
-
Arrange the bacon in a single layer on the baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes to partially cook and render some fat.
-
While the bacon cooks, mix together brown sugar, maple syrup, chili powder, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
-
Remove bacon from the oven and generously brush or drizzle the glaze over each slice.
-
Return to the oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until caramelized and crispy. (For chewier bacon, remove it earlier; for crispier bacon, bake a few extra minutes.)
-
Let cool on a wire rack for a few minutes—the glaze will set as it cools, creating that perfect sweet-and-spicy crunch.
Tips & Serving Ideas:
✔️ For extra crunch, sprinkle a little more brown sugar before the final bake.
✔️ Want a smoky twist? Add a pinch of smoked paprika.
✔️ Pair with waffles, pancakes, or even crumble over ice cream for a sweet-savory contrast!
Enjoy your crispy, caramelized, and flavor-packed candied bacon! 🥓✨
